The Work Has Begun
The first official work day began at 7 am with breakfast and morning prayer. The medical went to San Bartolome to prepare seeing patients, and the construction team went to Santiago d'Apostol to begin working on the second floor addition.
The dental team, whose supplies were in the missing duffel bags, decided to help out at the construction sight, and we were so glad they did! Our first task of the day was to move over 800 cinder blocks to the second story of the new education building. Then, after lunch, we all pitched in to begin constructing walls, guided by the local hired contractors.
Continental Airlines followed through on their promise find our bags, and delivered directly to San Bartolome! This is great news because now the dental team can get to see patients. They have made some big promises about making up for lost time!
The Christian Ed team spent their day finishing preparations, and the medical team saw a lot of patients!
